In the absence of safe & productive solutions, the smartphone is used for work while driving.
An analysis in Germany has shown that 19% of drivers read emails while driving on their phone and 15% use the smartphone keyboard to send emails.1
Distracted driving causes fatalities.
Analyses in the USA and Germany show that 10% of traffic fatalities are caused by distracted driving. In Germany this equalled 320 fatalities in 2016, compared to 225 fatalities caused by drunk driving.2
Clear need for a safe way to work in the vehicle – one that consumers will prefer over their smartphone.
Minimum distraction = voice operation
Embedded in vehicle infotainment solution
Full connectivity = access to all relevant tools & features
Real productivity = better than the smartphone
A driving safety analysis will take place as we leave the prototype stage.
If you would like to test the prototype while driving, your focus needs to remain fully on the driving task.
The prototype can be used fully via voice commands.
Whilst driving, the graphical user interface needs to be ignored to avoid distraction.
